The brave may not live long, but the cautious do not live at all.
I heard this on Survivor tonight ( I KNOW I watch too much tv but hey this thought was good) and it struck me because there are some things right now in my life that I'm being very cautious about. Surely it is better to live and perhaps lose than to never have lived at all.
Very deep for a reality tv show.

1st time here - so I'm gonna comment on two posts at once. It IS better to live... some very good shit has happened to me because of risks that felt right at the time. Some bad shit happened too - but it is far outweighted by the good!
Birthdays? Does a birthday lose steam after you reach the big 1-0? After age ten, who gives a shit. Sweet 16 might be next... and everyone loves a good graduation party. 21 is a big deal to people who couldn't score fake IDs when they were 17!
Hubby and I dont'celebrate birthdays. We're both xmas babies - so we learned long ago not to expect much from becoming a year older!
I make cakes for hte kids, but no presents. The grandparents fill that void.
But I have a secret, nad if you tell my hubby I'll kill you!
Since we're never made an issue of anniversaries, he's going to be shocked by my surprise plans
