What If...

Y'all know how I feel about tags and questionnaire things! I found (read stole) this from Lori's blog. I liked it. If you do too, then feel free to steal! If not, then just enjoy the read.

What if I could meet someone in the art world to chat with - I think it would be a very short conversation! I'm not artsy at all. Now, if scrapbooking counts as the art world, I'd love to meet and chat with Lisa Bearnson!

What if I could have one wish granted for the benefit of all mankind - I'm sure this sounds corny and very reminiscent of a beauty pageant, but I'd wish for world peace. Every time you turn on the TV there is some new break-out of violence. Someone else is hurting another person. Surely an end to all the violence and wars would be a benefit to all mankind.

What if I could travel anywhere in the world - I'd want to go everywhere! It is hard to narrow it down to just one spot, but I think I'd love to travel and see Ireland and Scotland. The pictures that I see from there are absolutely breathtaking. And some of those highland kilt wearing clansmen fantasies don't hurt!

What if I could live in a period other than the present, for 24 hours - Hmm, I think I have it pretty good right now, so I'm not sure I'd want to leave the present! But, for the sake of the question, I'd probably pick the Civil War era. Maybe I've watched Scarlett one too many times, but the dresses, hats, shoes, and such look so lovely. Plus, it just seems like the deep South would be a charming place. I'm so off base aren't I?!

What if I could make over three areas of my body - My butt (I would redefine it and make it smaller), my breasts (I would put some of the butt there to make them bigger), and my thighs (they have just always been a struggle). Outside of the breasts (which will probably just remain their current shape and size because I really don't think I'm vain enough for surgery), I am already working on making over those other two areas. The going is just slow!

What if I could become an animal for 24 hours - I want to be Dex, Fat Kitty! All he does is get pampered with attention, eat, and sleep. Who wouldn't want that kind of a life?!

What if I could bring someone back to life for 24 hours - I think I'd want to bring back my dad's mom. She died before I was born so I never had the chance to know her. I've heard all about her, but would love to introduce myself and find out a little bit more about her.

Merry Christmas!

I just want to wish everyone that wanders by a Merry Christmas! Also, a wonderful New Year if you've come around after the Christmas rush. I'm going home tomorrow for some much needed rest and relaxation surrounded by family. It never ceases to amaze me the comfort that can come to your soul when it comes from someone that loves you...warts and all. Below is an updated picture of my tree...this time surrounded by presents!

will always be more round than any other part of my body. And heaven help any daughters I have...it is in the genes!

Holiday Cheer

I haven't done a questionnaire thingy in a while and how many different ways can you say work and a sore throat make me feel like crap? Seriously! So, I'm shaking off that work stress and nursing my sore throat (the Rocky Road is totally for medicinal purposes) and getting in touch with the cheer that comes from the spirit of the season!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper unless I absolutely can't help it. I have this unusual thing for paper and tape!

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial

3. When do you put up the tree? Well, this was only my second year to do it, but both times I've put the tree up Thanksgiving weekend. It was nice this year that Thanksgiving fell early in the month so I get an extra week to enjoy the decorated tree!

4. When do you take the tree down? Sometime in January...usually before I have to go back to school.

5. Do you like eggnog? Ick...no.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I'd have to say my play kitchen. My Papa made if for me. It came with a fridge, sink, pantry, and stove. Plus I had all the play plates and food. How fun! Funny, you'd think with a kitchen as a kid I'd have more kitchen skills. Anyway, I spent many hours with that thing. It is in storage for when I have a little chef of my own.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, nativities are one of my favorite Christmas decorations. I love Willow Tree Angels and my parents bought me the Willow Tree nativity. It is beautiful!

9. Easiest person to buy for? Mama

10. Worst Christmas gift ever received? Hmm, well nothing sticks out right at this minute. Last year at the work Christmas party I did get some horrible Valentine white and red hearts as ornaments. That was a white elephant gift so it might not count.

11. Mail or email Christmas card? Oh, y'all...you know I love mail happiness so of course I mail out Christmas cards. But, there are some people that I have to send e-cards to for the holiday. Some of you fine folks are on the e-card list, but if you want to be on the actual card list just send me your address! I'd love to send you some mail happiness!

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? December 26 (What?! I shop all year long. That is half the fun for a shopaholic!)

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Probably...but only because I know someone else would enjoy it more. That is buyable right?!

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Anything out on snack day! In our family we have a day that is the snack day. We put out finger food type things and just snack...all day long. As kids, my Mimi would put out this little plastic tree with sausage, cheese, and olives on it. She'd turn around and we'd have everything off it! It's just a tradition in our family.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Multi-colored lights on the tree. If they flash and sparkle even better! I have this adorable little bear that looks like he is playing the piano. When you push his hat the lights dance to the tune of Christmas carols. Love that little guy...makes the tree so pretty!

17. Favorite Christmas song? O Come All Ye Faithful

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? I travel. Usually to my parents and then to my grandparents. I have no idea what I'll do when I'm married and have to share the holiday with another family.

20. Do you have an Angel on top or a star? I have a star on top and then the first ornament under the star is an angel.

Random And Weird...Yep That Is Me!

If you've been reading, well since yesterday, you know that have a thing for questionnaire type things. I think this stems from the fact that I'm a curious person by nature. Sometimes I'm reading someone's blog and I just want to ask the weirdest question or know the most random thing. Also, it doesn't hurt when someone asks you to do this type of thing! Yep, I was tagged by Jaded. Thank you! So, fellow readers and or bloggers...here is to getting to know more about each other.

Rules: I'm supposed to give seven random and weird facts about myself and then tag seven other people. I'm not going to do that because I don't like this rule. And if you've known me long you should realize that I follow the ones I like and try to find a way around the ones I don't.

1. Random: Since I have to get up at the crack of dawn (well really before the crack because it's still dark outside when I get up) I watch TV to get me going. I'm not sure how I stumbled on it, but I've gotten hooked on re-runs of Coach. I remember watching it when I was younger (when my parents would let me) and now it's a lot funnier since I know what all those jokes and innuendos actually mean!

2. Weird: I can't pee without first checking the shower to make sure that no one is hiding in there. I know it's completely irrational but I can't help it. I guess I don't want to literally get caught with my pants down. Though seriously if someone ever did jump out I'd be in the right place because the crap would probably be scared out of me. Too much info...sorry!

3. Random: I still have a crush. I've refrained from calling it inappropriate because what defines inappropriate? It's all about rationalizing baby!

4. Weird: This is completely unladylike and in some circles it is pretty gross, but I think farts are funny. It's one of my "guy" traits. Sad right? Did you know that the normal human body farts 12-40 times a day?! Seriously! How can you not find that funny?!

5. Random: One of my biggest fears is living a life of unfulfilled dreams. I dream a lot. I have things I want to try or things I want to do, but sometimes I settle for them just being dreams. I settle because I know that it is completely going to be out of character for me. I know that it is something no one expects and that some might even be disappointed in me. There are certain aspects of my life that only I control. It's selfish and frankly I don't care. I'll make the final decision, but there are some dreams that will remain just that because I can't live with just thinking of myself. I've had many dreams that I've been able to fulfill and I'm still dreaming. I just want the realities and dreams to balance out in the end!

6. Weird: I don't like lipstick. I prefer lip gloss. I usually feel too pale to wear lipstick...hence the gloss.

7. Random: I have picture frames out in my living room that don't have any pictures in them. Sometimes I just like the frame.

Beg, Steal, Borrow

It's been a while since I've done one of those questionnaire thingies. Yeah...I'm kind of addicted to them!

What kind of SOAP is in your bathtub right now? I guess we're going on the premise that liquid body wash isn't the same as SOAP. I have a bar of Zest in there...scent Linen Fresh
Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator? Nope
What would you change about your living room? I'd get rid of my current entertainment center and get a new one.
Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty? What dishwasher...I'm the dishwasher. So, umm that means the few in the sink are dirty.
What is in your fridge? I bet this turns out to be embarrassing. 2 cartons of milk (one past the date and one fixing to go), bottled water, string cheese, lunch meat, some wilted lettuce, and some Mandarin oranges. What? It is almost the end of the month and the supplies have been depleted.
What is on top of your refrigerator? my lunchbox, a small ice chest, and a cauldron
What color or design is your shower curtain? I have a solid blue one and then a clear one with some fibers in it. Kind of mulberryish style.
How many plants are in your home right now? live plants? That would be zero, but I've got some pretty fake greenery.
Is your bed made right now? No...it's not sheet changing day
How many pillows do you sleep with? 5 regular ones and one body pillow...I usually settle down with the body pillow and two of the regular ones.
Do you sleep with any lights on at night? Nope, not unless I'm sick at my stomach and then I leave my night light on
Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch? I wouldn't say it was welcoming. It's just plain green and kind of rough to the touch on the bottom of the foot.
Chore you hate doing the most? All of them...I hate them all equally
Any retro items are in your home? Retro...hmm. I don't know
Do you keep any kind of protection weapons in your home? No. I have some knives in the kitchen though.
What does your home smell like right now? Like something was burned in the oven. That means I tried to cook something for dinner. I think something just ran over and was burning on the bottom of the oven.
Ever been on your roof? Nope
In case of fire, what are the items in your house which you’d grab if you only could make one quick trip? That is tough, but I guess I'd grab my purse, my current scrapbook, and the VIP (very important papers) folder from the file cabinet. I'd want to drag out the cedar chest but I don't think that would be any one's definition of a "quick trip" item.

So, a little more insight into what makes me tick. Learn anything interesting?!

I'm beginning to wonder if I have a problem. I mean I love to talk about me and share little bits of useless information about myself with anyone who happens to stop by this piece of the world wide web. I think I might have....vain-ness (I love inventing words!).

Anyway, while I'm waiting for the Rx to kick in here are 35 more things to know about me.

1. Where is your mobile phone? Currently it's in my purse, but I'll take it out in a few minutes because it's Big Brother night and my friend D and I always watch together via text.
2. Relationship? Hmm...with what? Single at the moment but there is that inappropriate crush that gets more crushy each day. Don't you hate when that happens?!
3. Your hair? Brown (seriously I wish I had hair like they describe in romance books...silky light brown milk chocolate locks)and currently in need of a trim.
4. Work? I teach...and usually a lot more than just what the TEKS say I should.
5. Your sister(s)? I'm an only child.

In The Hot Seat

I volunteered to be "interviewed" by a fellow reader and posted below is a sampling of questions. They range from the nice to the naughty and everywhere in between. I think these things are fun and interesting because these type of questions usually dig a little deeper into the interviewee and make the interviewer think a little past what-is-your-favorite-color type questions. Enjoy getting to know a little bit more about me (probably some things that wouldn't normally just come out in a post!) and if you'd like to take a turn in the hot seat let me know!

What is your favorite soup?
My favorite homemade soup is my mom's Southwestern Soup. I bet everyone has a recipe for something "kind of like that" but I think my mom's is the absolute best! It's thick and hearty and perfect for cold days. It's also very easy to make and practically fool proof (which sometimes I need!)

And because I'm a nice kind of gal I'll even share the recipe!

1 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. dry ranch dressing mix
2 med. onions
2 cans ranch style beans
2 black beans
2 cans whole corn (with the liquid)
1 can hominy
1 large can diced tomatoes (with the liquid)
1 can mild (or spicy depending on your taste) Rotel
1 lb. Velveeta cheese

In a large (and I mean LARGE) soup pot brown the ground beef and onions together. Drain away any unwanted grease. Add the ranch dressing mix and stir together. Add all of the remaining ingredients (except the cheese) and bring to a boil. Slowly add the cubes of Velveeta cheese and stir until melted. It's the dump and heat method...very easy and very good!

If you were going to buy underwear for a man, what would you get?
This is kind of tricky to answer as I don't really buy underwear for guys. I guess I would say that I'd probably buy briefs in colors. And perhaps one or two pair of goofy boxers (the kind with cartoons or inappropriate crotch jokes on them) just to add some variety to the mix.

Have you ever stolen anything on purpose?
Yes, I stole a hot glue gun stick from Michael's Craft Store when I was about 6 or 7. My dad found out I'd taken it and made me return it to the store and apologize. Also in college I one time changed the price sticker on a book at Wal-Mart so I didn't have to pay full price. That was a moment of weakness and being broke. I haven't stolen anything else.

Does anyone have naked pictures of you?
Yes. (I think the interviewer was referring to those embarrassing naked-baby-in-the-sink type pictures all parents have...right?!)

What one thought turns you on more than anything else?
Being with a guy that is totally turned on by the good girl in me and the girl that wants to do the unexpected and break all kinds of rules and taboos. Oh, and that guy should have a great mouth! You can tell a lot about a guy by the way he kisses and uses his tongue. ;)

It's All About The Blog Roll

My brain is still a little fried today (another 6 hours of boring...) so I'm doing a meme but maybe I should call it a youyou! I think this is an easy one...Lori! When I first started reading Lori I'd think "oh yeah...me too!" and we'd comment and discover more and more that we had in common. For instance we're both teachers. We're both into scrapbooking. And there are a ton of other similarities. Oh yeah...we're both totally cool!

2. Blogger I read who is LEAST like me.It's hands down Wordbearer. To start with he's a guy and I'm a girl. He's a law student who is very "in the know" when it comes to current events. As you know I'm not very into news. He's also very opinionated and outspoken. Now, some of you that know me personally are going to think that's not very unlike me, but he does it in a style uniquely WB. Even though we're different, I enjoy reading his blog because I get to find out a little bit about the world around me. We don't always agree but I like that!

Okay this is one of those times where I'd pick you all but it says only three.
1. Nikky because she seems like she would be the life of a party! I love to hang out with "my" crowd, but in some sets I'm shy until I get to know people. I think Nikky would just jump right in there and liven things up! Plus, any chick that makes me jelly has got to be on this list!
2. Valerie because any girl that would post a picture of herself with milk dribbles on her chin has got to be fun! Plus, I think she'd pass along some great scrapbooking tips and tricks to me.
3. Becky because she's a dear friend that I haven't seen in so long! Becky and I were college roomies who had some rough patches but are back on the road of friendship. I miss all the good times we had and I sure do wish we were close enough to hang out and do fruity pink drinks together!

Name 3 bloggers of the opposite sex you’d like to share a hot tub with.This one is equally hard if not harder (and please don't read too much into that!) because I don't draw a lot of male readers. Oh and also let me add that hot tub could easily be replaced with a game of bowling and such!
1. Fin because he's so knowledgeable about so many things! Plus he tells the most amazing travel stories (the guy has been everywhere it seems) and the travel bug in me loves to hear about those adventures. He also usually has some pictures to share too. Fin is also my friend Bethany's husband-to-be so I hope he'd bring her along too. It'd be nice to catch up with her!
2. Ed because he's fun! I found Ed blog hopping one day and I discovered that he's a pretty talented writer. I've mentioned before that I enjoy reading romances and he writes about that at it's most elemental level. He also does it in a way that isn't trashy but instead insightful and sensual.
3. This blogger doesn't blog anymore, but I really liked it when he did. I understand the need to take a break from blogging, but I really enjoyed when he was sharing the day to day aspects of his life. Mike is another one of those travel guys. He recently came back from Europe and I'm so jealous!

5. Which blogger would you vote for in a political campaign?Hmm, you know why this one is tough right?! I don't really follow politics that much, but I'd pick Melissa because she's a newspaper editor so she's got to know what is going on! Plus, Melissa seems very down to earth. I'd like that in a candidate...someone I can relate too. If you ever run Melissa...I've got your chad covered!

6. You are thrown into a dimension where you can read one, and only one, blog. Which one is it?Ick...I'd hate to not be able to read all of my blogger friends! But, I'd have to say that I'd really miss reading Trina. She has such a sweet spirit and her love for the Lord shines through every word. I truly admire the love she has for God, her husband and family, and friends! She writes from the heart and touches on the good and sometimes the hard stuff that comes with living a life in God's will. I strive to be that humble and open!

7. Which blogger is living a life you think YOU might like to be living.I've discovered that the grass may be greener on the other side of the fence but they probably have a high water bill and have to mow more! I love my life (even the hard parts) but if I had to pick I think I'd go with Allison. She's a young lady with life spread open before her. That's not exactly that different from me, but she's younger and enjoying college life. I made a lot of choices and decisions in my college years that are far reaching. I think if I were in college again I might do a few things differently. Plus, I really miss 10:00 am classes and sleeping late!

I've got to steal a quote from my friend Becky...gotta love me some questionnaire thingies! I was tagged by Melissa and I haven't seen one like this before. It's centered around your middle name. And mine is Lynn. Here is a little background...Steffany Lynn...my grandfather and uncle are named Steven and my name is the feminine version of Steven. Lynn is a family name on my grandmother's side of the family. I guess all of that was a little bit of trivial information huh?!

Okay, on with the show!

L is for laughter. I love to laugh! You wouldn't have guessed that would you?! My mom says that when I was little she'd hear me in the other room just giggling away. Even then I could entertain myself - which I think is a good thing. I like to find the humor in all situations. Sometimes it is pretty hard, but I think laughter really is the best medicine!

Y is for all the times I ask why (oh come on...give me a break! Y is a hard one!) I am the type of person that needs all the details and such up front before I begin doing something. Sometimes that drives other people batty...especially those fly by the seat types. And honestly it sometimes drives me crazy! I don't really like surprises (except when presents and/or cake is involved) so I want to know all the hows and whys.

N is for new possibilities. I have accomplished a lot in my 25 years but a lot of it was pre-planned. I mean I got through high school, I went to college, I graduated, I got a job that isn't just a job but the start of a career so what comes next? I don't know exactly. And that's where the whole new possibilities comes in. The world is open to me and frankly that is kind of daunting.

N is for news. Now some of you are going to want to tar and feather me for what I'm about to say, but I don't watch the news. I don't read the newspaper. I'm one of those uninformed kind of people. Well, let me rephrase that...I do watch the morning news while I'm getting ready for work. But that's just for about 30 minutes a day. I rely on the little snippets I get off Yahoo news when I check my email or what people tell me. So, now my secret is out...I don't stay up to date on what's going on around me.

Lindsey sent me an email apologizing for tagging me right after Mary, but I was quick to assure her that I found it extremely flattering that two people in the same day decided they'd like to know more about me. So, ladies thank you and here goes!

You know it's pretty hard thinking up new stuff to tell you readers. I mean I'm pretty open and I do a lot of these questionnaire type things. Hmm...

Fact 1: I like wearing hipster undies. I buy them at Lane Bryant because the fit wonderfully and they are so cute! Plus they are low enough to ride below the jeans and they cover...everything. And even though I do laundry on a regular basis, I usually buy a new pair or two every month. What can I say...I like panties!

Fact 2: I have good handwriting. I'm not bragging, but just stating a fact. I don't know how it happened, but I'm glad it did. I spend a lot of time writing on here (well I should say typing on here) but I also spend time writing actual letters and cards. Use it or loose it I guess!

Fact 3: I eat mac and cheese like most normal people, but I put A-1 steak sauce on top of it. Don't ask me why. I don't know why, but I started when I was a little kid and now it's my favorite way to eat it. That one was pretty weird huh?

Fact 4: My pinkies (both of them) are crooked. They both curve in at the first knuckle. It's not overly noticable or anything, but I am gentically mutated!

Fact 5: I think I believe in deja vu. I say think because sometimes I get these strong feelings that I knew how a situation would happen or turn out. I always think I'm going to start writing things down when I have a vivid dream but I don't. It's kind of crazy.

Fact 6: You know those dumb reality shows on MTV or VH1? Well, one Sunday I was working on grading papers and got sucked into watching some brain cell killing show called Flavor Flave. I think I was so engrossed trying to figure out if people like that really exsist! Before I knew it, I'd watched the entire marathon. There were six hours or so I'll never get back.

Fact 7: I have a crush on someone completely inappropriate.

Fact 8: I have a thing for felt tip pens. I especially like the bright colored pens. I buy a new set every year so I can write on my calendar and make it all pretty! I bet you could guess that I like color, right?

Go Wild About Books

The PTO always comes up with a theme for the school year. For the coming year we're doing a wild jungle theme. I wasn't all on board at first because that was the theme last year. I like to mix things up a bit, but after a vote more teachers liked it than wanted to have to come up with a new one. Anyway, I've been gathering things to make my reading center very jungle-esq. I've got a fake ficus and some big tiger, lion, and zebra animal pillows. And on the wall with cute punch-out letters it's going to say Go Wild About Books! Pretty cute huh?

Well, in keeping with my wild about books theme, I found this questionnaire over at Valerie's and decided I just couldn't resist. It's all about books and reading - one of my absolute favorite things to do!


Hardback or paperback? The majority of things that I read are paperback. They are cheaper and easier to handle. I do have a few hardbacks though.

Buy on line or in a store?
I like to shop on Amazon.com (I love how you can find books for a penny sometimes!) but I don't like paying for the shipping. Also, I'm pretty impatient so I like the convenience of a store.

Favorite bookstore?
Books 2 Enjoy! It's a little used bookstore in my hometown. They have a great selection and I could spend hours in there browsing the shelves. I've built up quite a credit there so I can get a lot of books for a little bit of money...always a good thing!

Bookmark or dog ear?
I know that every librarian will cringe, but I'm a dog ear-er. I've tried bookmarks but I either lose them or something of that nature. So, I dog ear.

Keep, throw away, or sell?
I keep my favorites and then usually trade in the rest at the used bookstore. Sometimes I pass them around in my family or sell at a garage sale but most of the time I trade them in.

Short story or novel?
I prefer a novel. I think short stories can't always get you deep down into the characters...it's just too short.

Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
Oh that is a toughie! I usually try for chapter breaks, but sometimes I can't make it and have to find just a break in the text.

New or used?
Used...I'm not picky. But I won't turn down a new book.

Morning, afternoon or nighttime reading?
Mostly at nighttime before bed, but one a weekend or vacation I'll read anytime.

Stand Alone or Series?
I think I'm pretty even. I do enjoy a good series because I can revisit favorite characters.

Favorite Series?
I loved Sweet Valley High when I was growing up! And since I started teaching I've grown pretty fond of The Magic Tree house series (or as my kids say...the Jack and Annie books).

Favorite Books Read Last Year?
Bad Girls of The Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs and Too Much Temptation by Lori Foster. I really enjoyed those two.

On your “to read” pile right now?
There is a lot! I buy faster than I read...lol. Just a few are One Night Standards by Cathy Yardley, Hello, Darkness by Sandra Brown, Keeping A Princess Heart by Nicole Johnson, and Feeding Your Appetites by Stephen Arterburn

Oh there have been so many favorites...I couldn't pick just a few. I have favorites from childhood (The Berenstain Bears, Romona), from my teens (Sweet Valley High, The Babysitters' Club), and from now. There is no way I could list them. Though some of my favorite authors are Carla Niggers, Lori Foster, and Stephanie Laurens.

I have so many things to do today (pack for Math conference, shower, go buy stamps, etc.) but now I'm just itching to pick up a book for a few minutes!

Because I Just Can't Resist...

...I was tagged by Lori (one of my new favorite teacher blogs!) to do a meme (seriously people...what the heck is a meme?) and since I kind of have a thing for questionnaire type thingies I'm going to do it. Besides, y'all want to know as much unimportant information about me as possible...right?!

But, first I have to go on and on about my poor big toe. I wouldn't consider myself klutzy per say, but some of the bumps, bruises, and now gashes on my body might beg to differ. Tuesday morning I was taking some mail to the front door to be put out for the post man. Well, the clip was on the opposite side of where the door opens so I just stepped out (leaving my right foot inside the house) and reached for the clip. I couldn't reach so I leaned a little further and pulled the door back just a bit and screamed in pain. Apparently in my quest to reach the clip I completely forgot about my foot still inside the house...directly in the line of the door. I should say that this screen door is metal and well I basically scraped a huge chunck of my flesh off the corner of my toe. I hobbled in and got the first aid kit. I don't care what the bottle says...peroxide stings on an open wound! I'm sure I was a sight bent over blowing on my big toe. After several swipes I began to realize that that dark pink slash wasn't blood but rather toe meat. I know that sounded disgusting...sorry. I've been hobbling around the house and doctoring my toe. Thankfully today it's starting to heal up some. I bet I get a nifty scar out of the deal. Hmm...I wonder if dudes dig scars too?

What were you doing 10 years ago? Ten years ago I was 15 and probably just starting high school. I was wishing I was old enough to drive already, harboring a crush on Peter Abrigg, and hating algebra.

Oh, it's good to be back home. I had a great time with my family, though sadly the convention was slightly lacking. Anyway, like I said, being with my family was wonderful! I completed 12 layouts (most really great and two that I thought were just okay) and I have pictures but it will have to wait a while until my digital camera is once again connected to the cord thingy and my computer (please don't get weighed down by my use of technical terms!). To sum up everything...I shot my creative wad somewhere about Friday night. I got tagged by Nikky to complete this spill-your-guts type of questionnaire thingy. And y'all know how much I love a spill-your-guts type of questionnaire! I've seen this particular version on blogs and in emails. And now it's my turn. Depending on how well you know me these might be things you already knew and then some might be enlightening. Enjoy!

The Rules: Tell ten things about yourself that most people would not know.

1. I...ahem...have a card fetish. Okay so this isn't really all that much of a secret, but perhaps you're unaware of the extent of this fetish. Can I say fetish and it not mean something sexual? Anyway, I love buying cards, sending cards, and getting cards. I will always believe that mail happiness (my coined term for getting an unexpected card or letter in the mail) is good and can turn a bad day into a good one. It's true for me and that's all that matters!

2. There is going to the bathroom and then there is "going" to the bathroom. Well when I "go" to the bathroom, I have to have something to read. I'm serious...I keep a magazine on the dryer (which is located within reaching distance of my toilet) for those "going" trips. Also, if I don't have a magazine handy then I'll read the back of my face wash or the tampon box...anything that takes my mind off the "going" process. That's a weird one right?

3. I collect shot glasses. I currently have 21 glasses of all shapes, sizes, and varieties. I usually collect them from travels and my uncle also gave me several from his own personal collection.

4. I get embarrassed for people. For example, it's torture for me to listen to people call in on the radio. I usually listen to the radio on my way to work in the morning when the news and morning shows are on. It drives me crazy when people call in and sound like duds on air. I literally cringe and have to change the station because I'm embarrassed for them.

5. I want to write a romance book. I love to read and I read a variety of things (okay the variety has come within the last few years) but I'd still pick a romance book from a pile if I could only read one thing. It's hokey because the plot line is always the same (girl wants a guy, guy is her opposite but hot, girl and guy have a hot passionate affair, discover they are in love, always a misunderstanding that breaks them up, they get together and live happily ever after...ahhh) but I really think it would be fun to write a romance novel.

6. I'm an only child. Some know this because they know me, but I wonder just how many people could guess that fact without me saying it.

7. At some point in my life I want to own a bed and breakfast. This dream (maybe an unrealistic one but a dream none the less) is so funny to me because I can't cook (at least not well!), I'm not fond of cleaning, and sometimes I really enjoy just being alone. But still...there it is. Would you come and stay at my B&B?

8. Sometimes I don't brush my teeth before bed...I just use mouthwash. Kinda hard to believe that I have never had a cavity and I don't have bad teeth!

9. Both of my pinkies are bent. It looks like both of my pinkies were broken or something. They are bent in at the first knuckle. The doctor's told my mom that it was a genetic mutation. Ha...I'm mutated!

10. Hydrangeas are my favorite flower. I think the lavender and periwinkle ones are the prettiest. I love how those colors flow together. They are pretty.

How many of you remember the game of M.A.S.H? Girls probably remember it more simply because girls mostly played the game. I mean, boys might have, but it was probably a dirty version. Well, today during a workshop a few of the ladies around me started to play in the effort to ward off boredom. I have to admit that it reminded me of being in middle school and just knowing that if only my M.A.S.H would come true I'd be a happy camper. Well...not exactly today!

Here are my results:

We have 15 kids. (I should mention that a rule was that at least one answer had to be a funny, never going to happen kind of answer. This whole 15 kids thing...one of those never going to happen kind of answers!)
We drive a school bus. (Apparently to cart around all those kids.)

Useless Information

I really don't have anything interesting to blog about tonight. Earlier today I thought I'd have to blog about taking a lot of cold showers in the future, but the AC guy came and viola back to warm showers. I thought about going on about how I'm not Rachel Ray but still managed to make Earth Day bars with my class without setting the school on fire. Okay, so the bars were a little brownish black around the corners, but I'm sticking with "it adds flavor" to the dish. Oh and when I left school on Friday Timmy (despite the fact that Timmy might be a Timmette)the catapiller was alive and munching on leaves. So, you see...nothing really new or interesting.

Yes! I've actually been to the Saks on the actual 5th Ave. Goodness, NYC was fun!

One and it's actually a funny story. I know...you're so close to the end but this is a good one. My cousin was living in Denver and I was flying back to Austin. I had a layover in Kansas City. I went around for weeks telling people I was going to Kansas. I'd never been to Kansas. Umm...I've still never been to Kansas. No one corrected me that Kansas City was in Missouri. So, Missouri is the state where all I've seen is the airport...at night in the dark.
